We’ve been the comic book printer for Coin-Op Books for the last three years, and we just shipped out Coin-Op No. 7: The Doppler Issue. Coin-Op Books is the sister-and-brother team of Maria and Peter Hoey, both illustrators whose work has appeared in magazines, commercials, and newspapers. They publish their own work under Coin-Op Books, and have won numerous awards and accolades. An anthology of their work, Coin-Op Anthology 1997–2017, will be published by Top Shelf Productions and will make its debut at the San Diego Comic Con in July!
Printing the Comic Book
Coin-Op No. 7 is a handsome comic book! It’s a landscape trim size of 10″ x 8-1/2″—landscape and nonstandard trim sizes are not an issue for Bookmobile, unlike a lot of other short-run digital printers. The interior printed 4-color on 100-lb. matte-coated white stock, and the cover printed 4/4 on 12 pt. C1S stock with matte lamination. We perfect bound it with PUR glue for extra durability and flexibility (we always bind with PUR for titles with coated interior papers).
