The folks at The Luminous Landscape have published two great articles by Irish photographer Peter Cox on his experience publishing two books of his landscape photography funded via Kickstarter. Cox goes into detail on how and why he chose to fund through Kickstarter, producing a Kickstarter promo video, and strategies for promoting and structuring the Kickstarter campaign. Both of his Kickstarter campaigns were great successes, achieving full funding early and ultimately generating much more than his target fundraising amounts. No doubt Cox’s spectacular photographs of the Irish coast—taken from a drone flying over the stormy Atlantic in the case of the second book!—were key to his fundraising success.
