Najma is the latest novel we’ve printed for a Kickstarter client. Written by Danny Sherrard, Najma is the story of an “Arabic dream-book that must be translated to resurrect a hero mummified on the moon and open a secret passageway through time and space.”
The Kickstarter
Danny ran a great Kickstarter Campaign in May of 2016 and raised $7,413 in just thirty days. Backers received signed and personalized copies of the print novel, but also updates by postcard, inclusion in the book’s acknowledgements, access to the online edition, and a few were even taken out to lunch by the author in Austin, Texas.
Printing Kickstarter Fiction at Bookmobile
The print files came into Bookmobile in late September; we sent proofs to Danny and got a quick ok to print. We shipped books at the beginning of October—for a paperback book with clean files and a quick ok to print, our turn is just over two weeks.
Najma is 4″ x 6″, 54 black-and-white pages (odd trim sizes and small page counts aren’t a problem at Bookmobile), and is perfect bound with a color cover on 10-pt. C1S stock with matte lay-flat lamination.
