The 1/2/12 issue of The New Yorker has a great piece about John Oakes' and Colin Robinson's OR Books and the making of Occupying Wall Street, and BookMobile is mentioned! Well, we're mentioned as a "digital printing company in Minneapolis" but yes, that's BookMobile. What does BookMobile do for OR Books? We print and fulfill their books, fast. As the The New Yorker wrote, we received files on a Friday, provided e proofs the next Monday, and had books done the following Thursday. OR Books' website collected pre-orders which were funneled to our distribution system, eFirst. Now we're maintaining a ten-day supply of inventory and printing as needed. We don't bill OR Books for printing until the book is sold and shipped out.

And about the cover of Occupying Wall Street . . . OR Books' co-publisher Colin Robinson picked a cardboard beer carton out of the trash and mocked up the cover with a Sharpie. It looks great! We translated it as a black ink only cover on uncoated Ginger card stock (no lamination). BookMobile is producing more and more titles on uncoated card stock and it is a great look, for black ink only or CMYK.
